If your
business is faced with a technical challenge, the Space Alliance
Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) wants to help. The program
provides up to 40 hours of FREE engineering assistance,
utilizing the vast expertise of NASA and participating Alliance
Partners (NASA contractors or Universities).
Who can
apply: This
program is open to small businesses (under 500 employees),
non‑profits, inventors and entrepreneurs.
How it
works:
SATOP can
only solve technical challenges which are distinct and
identifiable. Our engineering expertise includes mechanical,
industrial, materials, structural, chemical, electrical, and
environmental.
1. Submit
a simple Request for Technical Assistance (RTA) form to
SATOP.
The form is on the web site, or can be faxed or sent in.
2. A
SATOP Project Engineer will contact you to discuss your request
and verify the details of the technical challenge.
3. Our
Project Engineers work to match your RTA with an
engineering Alliance Partner who has the necessary expertise.
4. If a
Partner accepts the RTA, you will work directly with them by
phone, fax, or e‑mail. (Engineers do not come to your site.)
5. Most
RTA's will be resolved within 90 days.
