Gourmet Food for the Common Budget!
The
Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Texas Tech University
would like to announce a new and exciting choice for lunch in
downtown Lubbock, targeting the local professionals who need good
food, fast. Red Carpet Restaurant & Catering is a European,
family-style restaurant and is a breath of fresh air to the lunch
time rush. Customers are able to have a gourmet meal during their
lunch hour, and the quality of the meal is not diminished by the
lunch rush.
This
unique restaurant has an ever-changing menu because Chef Carlos
Rangel uses only fresh, seasonally-available ingredients to ensure
quality and flavor. He creates a new eye-pleasing and mouth watering
entrée each day. A new menu is created two weeks in advance and
posted online, so regulars know what to expect. Red Carpet is open
weekdays from 11am to 2pm, and now on Saturday evenings from 5pm to
9pm. Red Carpet also offers Catering Services.
Chef
Carlos Rangel, a Lubbock native, was formally trained at Johnson &
Wales University in Denver, Colorado. His specialties include
Country Italian, Classic French, Mediterranean and Oriental
Cuisines. Carlos honed his skills in West Coast eateries, satisfying
the palettes of such celebrities as Aerosmith, Clint Black,
Metallica, and Shania Twain.
Carlos and his mother Kathy, who also works at the restaurant, came
to the SBDC to seek advice on financial management and business
planning and worked for several weeks with Senior Business
Consultant Ray Laurent, in order to be ready for their opening.
